Image Gallery
Welcome to my image gallery. This is where I house (temporarily) the food, food-related, and other images I shoot. I adore beautiful images, and like good food and wine, I enjoy photography a lot, particularly food photography. Though I’ve only recently begun creating my own images again, photography is becoming more of a passion for me with each passing day.
Many foods, both cooked and raw, and beverages are absolutely beautiful and since they almost always cooperate without much effort on my part, they make perfect photography subjects. I try to shoot at least once a week and I look forward to improving as I learn more about this fascinating art.
I normally use my Nikon D50 digital SLR to do food shoots. The lenses that I currently own are the Nikon 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G AF Zoom and the Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF, which I use almost exclusively for food shots. I plan to upgrade my glass eventually; once I have mastered my camera and learned to better utilize the lenses I already have. I used the D50 to shoot the majority of the images featured here, though a few of the older images were taken with my pretty baby – an Olympus D490 – my first digital, which I purchased in 2001.
I also own a Canon VIXIA HV30 video cam that also takes still shots. I used to play around with it quite a bit, but haven’t picked it up in a couple of years. I’m planning on blowing the dust off of it soon, though. And last, but not least (well maybe), I have a Minolta X370 manual film SLR, a zoom lens and a 2x converter that I purchased waaaaay back in the day for a photography class during my freshman year of college.
Lately, I’ve gotten a bit lazy and have taken to shooting quick pics of some of my meals with my iPhone 4S. Not the best idea for food photography, but that little 8 megapixel powerhouse does take some pretty decent pics. Hopefully, I’ll pick up my Nikon again real soon.
